Beginning Agility

Beginning agility emphasizes fun and excitement for the dog and handler team. Agility is a great class for those dogs who already have mastered the skills taught in Family Dog 1 and Foundations for Agility and want more of a challenge. This class starts with obstacle recognition and performance, then moves on to sequencing obstacles. 6 weeks, one hour per week. Ongoing.

Prerequisite: Family Manners I or equivalent. Dogs must be able to pay attention when asked around new dogs and people, have a reliable sit, down and come, be able to line up in heel position beside you, and must be able to stay for 1 minute with the owner 15 feet away and release on a verbal release. Ages 6 months and up, dogs must be in good health for athletic activity and may not be aggressive with dogs or people. If you are not sure if your dog is ready contact us for a free 10 minute evaluation.

The sport of Dog Agility requires that the dog and handler run together in concert..

Agility classes continue in ongoing six week sequences. It may take a dog several months to perform sequences of obstacles with speed and to build confidence for a great performance.

Intermediate Agility

You will learn handling, sequencing, coursework and directionals in this fast, fun class. Prepare for competition or just have fun with your dog. Continue with teamwork, safe performance and communication on more challenging courses.
