Mocha had the opportunity to perform her sits and downs today when we were returning home from our walk today. We encountered a large group of handicapped children (blind, mentally challenged, etc) which appeared to be on a field trip. Everyone was a bit startled when they saw the BIG black dog approaching! I put Mocha on a sit/down which brought cheers of delight All gathered around as Mocha performed a couple of commands. Then she sat politely while a couple of children gave her a treat and was able to pet her soft fur. Even the blind child was able to pet her. When we continued on our way, we got a very big thank you! So I would like to pass along this "heart-felt" moment and thank you for your wonderful training and sensitive approach in understanding dogs.

Mocha is a high energy young lab that Gail & Roger rescued. Together they have taken Family Dog 1, Family Dog 2, Fun Foundations for Dog Sports, Beginning Agility AND Flyball!
We decided that a puppy class would be the perfect opportunity to socialize our puppy. Our puppy Akira learned many new things and we also learned a new dog training method. We highly recommend Sandi for all training classes. Her methods are positive and encouraging for all puppies and dogs.

Junebug, my year and a half old yellow Labrador, and I have worked with Sandi since June was 4 months old in private training, class obedience and agility work. Sandi's knowledge about dog behavior is exceptional. She has the ability to spot problems and offer creative and simple solutions before they become bad habits. She is gentle and patient with animals and teaches consistency to achieve success with positive reinforcement; most of all making learning fun!

Sandi's ability to serve as an interpreter between Buck (our GSD mix puppy) and our family was a godsend. Her intuitive talent for sizing up misbehavior and miscommunication between us and Buck did so much to develop our confidence as dog owners. Her talent to see events from a dog's perspective and to so clearly understand a dog's developmental stages/needs sets her apart from our previous experiences with dog training.
Sandi's consistent use of positive reinforcement as a training method was a joy to work with. We never found a question she couldn't answer or a problem she couldn't offer a solution to. We can't imagine how we would have ever learned to transform our rambunctious and unruly puppy into the fine dog he is today without Sandi's help.

This is to recommend Sandi Pensinger as a teacher and trainer of owners and their dogs. Sandi uses positive and upbeat training methods to teach pet owners how to train their dogs successfully.
Her classes are informative and helpful for owners of new puppies, adult dogs and also for experienced trainers who want to continue working with their already trained dogs to increase the skills of both trainer and dog.

As first time dog owners Julie and I had all sorts of concerns about what it would take to train our new Mastiff/Shepherd puppy, Pyra. But the methods Sandi taught us, and the rapid results they produced, helped turn training our puppy into a fun highlight each day. From my experience in her private lessons, Sandi is an excellent teacher of dogs and people. During our lessons if something wasn't working, Sandi just showed us a different way that worked a little better. Only in retrospect did I realize I was getting as much training as my dog.
